The idea that we make free choices is a facade. We choose between options. Right now the available options make it pretty difficult to eat well and pretty easy to eat poorly. Government is implicit in all of it. Government is in your fridge already. Government policies shape current food prices and labels. People are free, and should remain free, to make their own choices - and accept the consequences of those choices - without being regulated, lawed or ruled to follow someone else&#39;s opinion. If a person is unhealthy because of the food choices they make, their woes are of their own doing and they are responsible. We don&#39;t need government taking responsibility (and freedom) away from people in a perverted &quot;we know what&#39;s best for you&quot; waste of time and tax money. Educate people so they can make their own, good choices. However much I agree with you, people do need to take some responsibility for what they eat and feed their children.
