If you needed one more reason why Armageddon's a bad thing here's a food that I imagine when the world is gone you'll be willing to fight your neighbour gladiator style for the privilege of eating - Whole cooked chicken in a can!
The pictures are astounding.
I've clipped just two - you really owe it to society to click through to see the rest.
Here's the view when you open the can:
Here's the can giving birth:
No nukes!

Frankenfood: WHOLE chicken in a can

That's possibly the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the holiday version could feature a whole turkey in a can. To go with the canned vegetables and canned potatoes and canned cranberry sauce. However, I am a firm believer in the idea that for certain people, eating turkey constitutes cannibalism.
ReplyDeleteI can now die knowing I have witnessed the most disgusting food product ever. Oh my God, what have we come to? Have mercy on our souls! Mike
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Corey. That is horrifying. There goes my appetite for breakfast. I'm actually quite relieved that the pictures are firewalled from work.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the other commenters. That is the most hideous and gag-making thing I have seen in a long long time. It's fortunate I am having a fasting morning because I couldn't face any breakfast after that. Thank you for being brave enough to post it! I love the blog, BTW.
ReplyDeleteI actually tried one of those back in my younger days. Oh sure, it looks repulsive coming out of the can. But roasted with a melange of root vegetables, and paired with a crisp side salad, $500 worth of high-grade Columbian cocaine, and a nice Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, and it makes for a surprisingly tasty meal.
ReplyDeleteI don't see what the problem is, other than the sodium content is probably high. It seems like a nice, whole food, compared to most canned products. Chicken fat coogulates? Ooo, yucky! Cootie alert!
ReplyDeleteBut, uh, it does that with fresh chicken too, my friends. But of course none of you have ever cooked a whole chicken, I assume.
we had something like this 40 years ago for 'special' camp food in saskatchewan!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei wouldnt eat it then, it looks like the SAME chicken....ha ha ha
I think I just became a vegetarian.
