Apparently they've just commissioned a new badge for their scouts to earn.
The video game badge.
Yup.
Just checked my calendar and it's not April 1st.
Sad sign of the times.

I don't know, if you read the actual requirements for the badge, it teaches boys:
ReplyDelete- appropriate ages for different types of games
- creating a schedule to be sure things like chores and homework are done
- consumer awareness (comparing two products for features & benefits, comparing stores before deciding where to buy)
- to find games that enhance their academic skills
- installation of electronics
So yes, there may be some irony in having a badge for an activity most young boys do already, but what the Boy Scouts have done is require MUCH MORE than just sitting on your butt and playing the games.
