Weekend viewing: My Canada's Food Guide talk

If you've got some time this weekend and you're interested in hearing about some of my concerns surrounding Canada's Food Guide, feel free to head over to the First Canadian Healthcare Conference who are showcasing a talk I gave this past January in St. John, New Brunswick.

  1. Great talk - there was more to know about the food guide development and lack of evidence based recommendations than I would have thought. One question I have is where does a regular person get nutritional help? I have meet with dietitians and I have first had experience that they have blind faith in Canada's food guide... even to the point of saying that as a vegetarian who doesn't eat fish, I have to eat fish to get omega 3 because flax seeds etc are not described as sources of Omega 3. My question about glycemic index was dismissed just as quickly.
