Saturday Stories

Mark Hyman wants us all to celebrate home cooked meals (great piece).

Watch my friends over at CBC Marketplace during their season premiere - Big Gym Ripoff.

If you followed all of Jen Melo's healthy eating rules, you'd be doing just fine.

Science Based Medicine's Mark Crislip takes on cranberry juice for urinary tract infections. My favourite quote?

"If you collect individual cow pies into a larger pile, it does not transmogrify into gold."

  1. I liked the article about family meals. We eat dinner most every night together -- home cooked by adults on hand. We often have breakfast together, too. I am fat, my husband is trying to lose weight gained because of a necessary medication, but my daughter is so far right on track, and not a very fussy eater. It definitely takes effort and planning, but I look forward to dinner together, and know I'll be eating something that supports my health.

  2. My mom keep sticking echinacea drops in my tea when I have a cold. She finds out I have a cold, goes out and buys echinacea drops, then comes over and gives it to me. Perhaps I should tell her to save her money on this one.
