Thanks for the articles! I have similar issues dealing with "shiny foods" and my two young ones. My wife and I restrict TV viewing time and channels--PBS and Netflix shows only to reduce the ads. Unfortunately grandparents and our home-run daycare don't share the same philosophy so we still get bombarded with the "I wants" from time to time.
It's actually one of the reasons we are changing daycare in favor of a more structured "center" that has pre-school and kindergarten.
