I'm Just Not Drunk Enough

Thanks to Google and Blogger this was quite a week!

Over 10,000 hits over the past 3 days alone.

So for all of my new subscribers, let me explain what happens on Fridays. On Fridays, I take a day off the serious stuff and try to post something, well, funny. This week is no exception and I've got a great video from Catherine Tate of the BBC telling it like it is.

Have a great weekend!

[Unfortunately for email subscribers that usually means a blank box at the end of the email. To watch the video, just head over to the blog.]

  2. Thanks for the note Cara.

It was a complete surprise and I have no idea how they picked me.

I suspect it may have had to do with the fact that roughly a month ago I emailed the blogger development team to ask that a feature be added.

Amazingly, they added the feature within a few weeks (scheduled posts).

I'm guessing they had the opportunity to poke around my blog when I emailed them and that someone over there liked it enough to put me on the skew of blogs of note.

    Great support from Blogger.

    Thanks for reading,
    Yoni

  8. hi Yoni, I'm new to your site and I admire the personal stance that you as a doctor have taken in the fight against obesity.

However, I would like to ask - how do you feel that psychological ill health affects obesity? The reason I ask is that where I am treated (Belgium/Netherlands), obesity is very much seen as a by-product of being mentally unwell. I have always been "nutritionally aware" but until my head was put in a good place via therapy I was "unable" to lose the 110lbs I needed to.

I knew damned well that what I needed to do was eat less, make better food choices and exercise - but because I was (am) suffering from DSMIV documented problems - I controlled those problems by over-eating.

I would love to hear what you think about this - because when I look at my obese friends I know that food is not the source of their problems - emotional problems ARE.

  14. I had the same problem with the golden retreiver bitch next door. I'm a staffordshire terrier in case anyone is worried by that last sentence.

  15. That. Was. Great.

Just stumbled across your blog and was pleasantly surprised to see that you're a Canuck as well! I will read more of your posts, if not for the patriotic element, then definitely for the good content.

  16. "Over 10,000 hits"?

A savvy blogger knows that "hits" are meaningless (e.g., every photo on page that is viewed is each counted as a hit...100 photos on a page? 100 hits!).

Pageviews has been the norm for quite some time for blogs. Get with it, dude!
