  2. In the Canada's Food Guide challenge I wish he could've posted what he was actually eating versus what he was eating before. I think one of the things that can be frustrating about the food guide is there are lots of things implied (i.e. the reason "Vegetables & Fruits" is called that as opposed to "Fruits & Vegetables" is because you are expected to eat more vegetables than fruit) as opposed to said outright so it does leave a lot of room for [mis]interpretation.

Canada's food guide is intended to reach a wide range of people(all of Canada in fact) , so it is very fuzzy in its prescription. However I think it is incredibly unfair to follow the food guide and then blame it for your weight gain, because Canada's Food guide success is in the hands of its user. Yes, I agree it is imperfect in many ways, but I think what we should take from it is this: Eat more veggies and fruit than anything else, choose low fat dairy, lean meats, and whole grains. What is so wrong about that?

I second Vincci's comments. Would love to see/hear how Jean-Luc's diet changed. I wonder if, not having any special training in the use of the food guide, he's misinterpreting any of the guideance. For example, 8 bananas could easily add up to 16 or more "Food Guide servings", even if they don't look especially large compared to the rest of the produce in the grocery store.

There is so much wrong with this food guide "experiment I don't even know where to start.... The obvious bias from the start completely ruins any sort of conclusion or results he obtains......of course he's going to report weight gain etc he stated this would happen from the beginning. I doubt Hejaz even been following it properly or even has gained any weight. I would love to see a diet record because an a trainer I'm sure he's working out a lot and there's no way by just meeting the cfg servings he would be gaining weight. I am usually enlighhtened by your posts and links but this takes away a lot of credibiliity, it's just ridiculous.
